It makes you wonder, what the hell happened. For me, it's all about the expansion of and intervention by the government in every single aspect of our lives. As the government extracts more and more from the citizenry it crowds out elements of the market that we access to make our lives better. Since the government never really gets smaller, over time our lives just get smaller and smaller.
