Our inspirational guest Ellie Atherton remained open to learning by trusting the path that unfolded ahead of her. She was raised in a spiritual household and was one to wear her heart on her sleeve. Ellie experienced a pivotal moment in her life when she was overcome by a sense of protection and comfort while at home gazing at one of her crosses as a child. She had a difficult time taking medications and developed a passion for studying herbs after finding a book in her new home that discussed plant medicine. Ellie was fascinated as she dove into how they could assist with healing and even made her own cough syrups. Pursuing her path as an herbalist, Ellie eventually divorced her husband of 23 years while discovering more about herself through her spirituality. Being a single mother, she knew she need more than her herbal business to support her children. Seeing an ad in the mail promoting getting a nursing degree, she knew that was the next step on her journey. Becoming a hospice nurse, she found that taping into her faith and listening to others truly enabled her to make a difference in the lives of her patients and also in her own. Tune in to hear how Ellie remained open to learning as she encountered every new chapter in her life.
