If we are not careful, pride can sneak up on us, and we can find ourselves operating in it without ever being aware of it. It can manifest itself either as pride and arrogance, or as timidity and shyness. Proud people disregard the Word of God, choosing to exalt themselves instead of Him. Pride causes us to be self-centered, and when we find ourselves there, we are trusting ourselves instead of God.
