Pride: Our Biggest Enemy

Pride is our greatest enemy because it makes God our enemy. Pride contends for supremacy with God. Sin leads us further from God; Pride attempts to elevate us above God. Pride is self-obsession; preoccupation with ourselves. The only cure for pride-Humility. Humility is a form of self-forgetfulness as opposed to pride’s self-fixation. Pride can lead to self-exultation or it can lead to self-degradation. C.S. Lewis, “True humility is not thinking less of ourselves, but thinking of ourselves less.” Pride is a collision course with God Himself.
