We approach the flood as a metaphor for spiritual and material challenges. The solution is to enter the "Teiva" (ark/words of Torah). This inner work is the essential preparation for re-engaging with the world and fulfilling one's duty to help the spiritual welfare of all interconnected Jewish souls.
