Originally proposed as an account of Winter in the wilds of Scotland, the arrival of the COVID 19 pandemic threw those plans into disarray and the result is a very different book to the one John intended, but it's one which captures the relationship between man and the natural world in a manner which is entirely relatable, and in many ways comforting.
