COLT GRAY, 14, MOTHER WARNS SCHOOL AFTER TEXT FROM SON: 13 SHOT, DAD ARRESTED

The father of the teen boy, arrested in the mass shooting at a Winder Georgia High School, has been arrested, himself,  being held accountable for the actions of his son, Colt Gray.  Colin Gray is charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder and eight counts of Cruelty to Children. These charges stem from Colin Gray allowing his son Colt to possess a weapon  The FBI first investigated Colt Gray in May of 2023 after a tip about a school shooting threat through a user of  Discord, a gamer chat platform. 

Dad Colin Gray shared with investigators that he was teaching his son about "firearms and safety" and how to hunt. Gray told investigators that if his son did make any threats, he quote, "would be mad as hell and then all the guns will go away."  

Colt himself denied making threats.  At some point following the interaction with authorities, Colin Gray bought his son an AR-15-style rifle as a gift.
