It's important to know that when you are spending time in the Word of God, you're not doing it by yourself. God doesn't want you to study His Word on your own. He wants to be there with you. He wants to teach you every step of the way.

It's so important that we fellowship with God in His Word. The point you're trying to get to is revelation; where the student hears from heaven and hears from God.
