When Sophie Matterson was 31, she broke up with her long-term boyfriend. Soon afterward, she packed all her belongings into saddlebags and decided to trek from Shark Bay in Western Australia to Byron Bay on the east coast with five camels. For 13 months Sophie crossed deserts, salt lakes, and cattle stations, often without seeing another person. But somehow, along this journey, Sophie found love.
