037 Coaching Grief

In this week's episode we are covering another topic raised by one of the members of our coaching lounge. We are talking about coaching grief. Now, when we say grief most people will think about the idea of loss of a person but this week we want to broaden our definition and think about all of the different ways grief could show up for a person in a coaching session.

We cover:

• How grief can be an integral part of coaching change
• Opening up the definition of grief in the coaching space 
• The many ways grief can show up in a coaching session
• How to spot the difference between grief and stagnation
• The overlap between counselling and coaching
• How a clients views around grief can impact them
• How we can as coaches support change and set people up for success

When we understand where the grief is coming from with a client we can support them in the best way possible to identify and manage change. Managing grief can in this setting can be a powerful way to help clients to acknowledge their feelings and move forward.
