How Preventive Maintenance impacts EVERYTHING & EVERYONE

Preventive Maintenance, or PM activities and tasks, represent one of the biggest areas to drive positive impact across all of your people, places, and things that a CMMS platform, when setup and used properly, delivers as what we might call a “big picture” outcome. This topic came to mind because of a recent survey, on LinkedIn, from Griffin Hamilton (host of The Modern Facilities Management Podcast), asking Facilities Managers what they would prioritize with an extra 4 hours a day? I chose PM tasks simply because it impacts everything in a positive way. It keeps equipment assets running better while eliminating unplanned failures – the failures that literally steal time from your team members – and that permeates throughout your facilities and maintenance operations. It’s the concept of creating proactivity, thus reducing reactive responses and work, to build momentum in efficiency. More preventive maintenance efforts, even non-equipment related PMs, not only frees up time but it has a direct impact on how your personnel (employees), tenants of a building, students at a school, and facilities (the building, the building envelope, even grounds) perform throughout a given day.
