🎙️ TDA Recap – Sept 4th
Energy was high this morning as the team dove into everything from Greek holidays to Greek salads, cooking traditions, ancestry debates, and the reality of sickle cell awareness month. Things got lively with conversations around polls, guest choices, and whether community sentiment is really being reflected on the show.
We even had some wild detours - from Bouncer’s brewing “civil war” in the media game, to Emmanuel’s constant battles with Christianity narratives, and a fiery discussion on black love (and when’s the right time to talk about it 👀).
Big highlight was the launch of It Takes a Village - a year-long campaign aiming to bring in 16,000 new Black blood donors. Powerful, necessary, and something we all need to get behind.
And of course, headlines kept us sharp:
đź’° HMRC coming for savers with over ÂŁ3.5k.
📉 The pound dipping as UK bond yields hit century highs.
🌏 Kim Jong-un linking with Putin and China’s power bloc.
🔥 Topic of the Day: Do grades really matter, or is it all about your network? The panel and community went back and forth on the real value of school - from private school privilege to street lessons, to whether subjects or people shape us more in the long run.
