Galileo Galilei, the Italian physicist & astronomer from Pisa. He challenged the presiding view of his time stating that the earth was the center of the universe and published the controversial book Galileo Galilei, wherein the meetings of four days, are discussed the two chief systems of the world, Ptolemaic and Copernican which angered the Catholic church and landed him in house arrest.
