From 2010 comes this conversation with Bruce Feiler, author of the best-selling book "The Council of Dads: My Daughters, My Illness, and the Men Who Could Be Me," which NBC has adapted into a new drama series airing Tuesday evenings. When Feiler was diagnosed with life-threatening cancer, he approached several of his closest friends and asked if they would be willing to step in as surrogate fathers for his daughters. His beautiful book chronicles what is was like for him to assemble this 'council of dads.'
