Day 3 of Grand Slam Track: Miami brought the energy, the drama, and season defining performances. With Slam titles and $100K prizes on the line, the athletes delivered across the board.
Freweyni Hailu made a splash in her Grand Slam Track debut, winning the 1500m and taking third in the 800m to edge out Nikki Hiltz for the Short Distance title. Trey Cunningham was untouchable in the hurdles, clocking 13.00 in the 110mH and 10.17 in the 100m to sweep the Short Hurdles and put up a perfect 24-point showing.
Agnes Ngetich finally got her big moment, earning the Long Distance title—and a six-figure check—thanks to her faster combined time in the 3000m and 5000m after tying in points with Hirut Meshesha. Grant Fisher made his move early in the 5000m and never looked back, securing his second Slam title with a gutsy run.
Alison dos Santos stayed undefeated, crushing both the long hurdles and the flat 400m with a personal best. Marileidy Paulino bounced back from Kingston with a dominant double in the 400m and 200m to claim her first Slam title.
Kenny Bednarek lit up the sprints with a 9.79w in the 100m and 19.83 in the 200m, walking away with two more wins and another $100K. And Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone reminded everyone why she’s built for this format, taking her fourth victory and second Long Hurdles title with a 52.07/49.69 combo.
