This past week there were several comments about the wages being offered new dental hygienists in the State of Utah. They couldn't believe many docs were offering a starting salary of $25 per hour (sorry docs from other states, it's just supply and demand). In this podcast, I give the history of the wages of dental hygienists in the State of Utah, where they are currently, and why they are at an all-time low. All I can say to our hygienist colleagues is, WELCOME TO OUR LIFE AS DENTISTS! Welcome to the low reimbursement rates granted by dental insurance companies.
