Establishing Residency While Full Time RV Living

A question we hear, and get asked a lot about is, "Residency" - and more specifically how to establish a new domicile since you'll now be living life on the road.

The answer is more simple than you think. We used a company called Dakota Post which can help you establish your residency in South Dakota. 

But why South Dakota you ask? Well, we chose this state because of they are income tax friendly! This means, I do not have to pay state taxes on my earned wages from my job back to the State of South Dakota. So that, saved me $300+ per month. 

Secondly, South Dakota was just easy to establish residency. After completing the necessary paperwork with Dakota post, they give you a legit mailing address where you forward your mail to, and they will contact and forward the mail to you anywhere you are! This address is a legal address that can be used on all government forms and driver's license. 

And finally, the ease of requirements to obtain the necessary time limits to establish residency was 1 night in the state and then 1 night every 5 years! 

The entire process was so simple and easy, we are so glad we did it!
