Do we, the people of Colorado, want to give away our voice to large population centers like NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles?
Listen for details about how you can take an individual stand against the National Popular Vote.
Be certain that when newly elected Denver City Council member Candi CdeBaca means talks about "community", she means "collective".
A community is made up of individuals, a collective is made up of cogs and various replacable parts.
There are no individuals in a collective - there is no "you" in a collective.
Sometimes when we "celebrate" various groups of people we are actually furthering divisions and not seeking out actual unity.
Worse still, sometimes the call to be inclusive is really an insistance that all people affirm and adopt worldviews and social beliefs that some may, in someway, disagree with.
Often this insistance is backed by government and all the power that government has.
The Delphi Technique.
Have you ever attended a community meeting where you genuinely thought that your voice mattered and would be heard, only to walk away feeling that a decision was made by “consensus” and that your opinion had been manipulated?
Welcome to the world of the Delphi Technique which is effectively used by politicians, pundits & interested parties to get Joe and Jane Q. Public to agree to a predetermined policy or project.
Patti Kurgan, former member of the Pay Equity Commission and Jan Cook, grassroots activist, join Kim to explain the Delphi Technique.
