Episode 114: The Haunting of Nelly Butler

The year is 1799, and newly married Nelly Butler has a very difficult birth which not only results in the death of her newborn, but her own demise as well. It is not too long after her death that Nelly's ghost begins to make frequent visits to her neighbor's home where she is constantly chatting. Eventually, Nelly plays matchmaker and even predicts another death. Nelly Butler has been dubbed "America's First Ghost" and her story is a proud part of Maine's history.
