We start off our conversation on a very heartbreaking tone as Bria explains to me that at the very young age of 11 years old, she made the choice to mother herself and give herself the love and care that she wasn’t receiving from her family. She had to step deeply into her maturation as a young girl to mother everyone else around her and is still working to pull those threads back to not give so much outwardly, but to give to herself more *Bria speaks to how she always knew she wanted to have child...

*Having very unpleasant experiences with her Medical Midwives

*Being gaslit about how far she was within her birth process by medical staff at the hospital

*Having her baby be pulled from her body in an unnecessary forceps delivery and him having a lasting mark on his head to this day

*Being verbally abused by nursing staff during her early postpartum time

*Getting pregnant with her second baby and finding a mentor to support her on her journey to birthing free of the system

*Trying to check out of an Airbnb while being in her active birthing time

*Birthing her baby in a bathtub alone in that Airbnb

This is such a beautiful story and again another wonderful testament to the power of women and proof that birth just works.
