Episode 212: Suspiria (2018)

This week at The Film Club we’re talking about the horror remake Suspiria! The film follows a woman named Susie Bannion she’s an American dancer who has just been accepted into the Markos Dance Academy in West Berlin in the fall of 1977. While the academy is welcoming Susie in, it’s also dealing with the sudden disappearance of one of their students Patricia Hingle. Patricia mysteriously vanished after revealing to her psychotherapist that the dance academy is run by a coven of witches and there is immediate danger. On the day Susie arrives to the academy another student named Olga becomes furious with the lead dance instructor Madame Blanc and proceeds to flee the academy. Unfortunately Olga finds herself trapped beneath the dance academy in a room filled with mirrors, then she’s tortured to death by an invisible force.
