Edith Eger, Psychologist and Best-Selling Author | Something Between Birth And Death Called Life

After being sent to Auschwitz as a young girl, today’s guest, Edith Eger, was ordered to dance for the infamous “Angel of Death”, Dr. Josef Mengle. While traumatizing, Dr Eger has managed to keep her love for dancing alive - even eighty years later.

In this episode of storymark℠, Dr. Eger describes how she remained hopeful amidst the gravest of circumstances. Faced with death, Eger made the choice to live, and has dedicated her life to teaching others what she learned through this process. After eventually earning a PhD in Psychology - though she never completed high school! - at age 50 Eger became a practicing psychologist. And at age 90, she wrote her first book, The Choice, and soon after her second, The Gift, which became international bestsellers and turned Eger into one of the most prominent female voices in Holocaust literature.
