Welcome to the inaugural episode of the Grazing Grass Podcast! Join me, Cal Hardage, as I share my journey into the world of grass farming and explain the motivation behind starting this podcast. As an avid podcast listener, I noticed a gap in content specifically focused on grass farming, and I decided to create a platform dedicated to helping farmers become better grass farmers. In this episode, I outline the show's format, where we plan to interview a different grass farmer each week to learn about their operations, challenges, and successes. I also provide some background about myself, from growing up on a beef cattle and dairy farm to my current role in education and technology while managing a farm with Kiko goats, Katahdin hair sheep, and Limousin cows.
