Christopher Nicolaysen knows what it’s like to grow up without a lot of money and with a father who wasn’t around much because of work. As a parent, he’s done everything he can to ensure his daughters had a father who was home as much as possible and fully present when he was with them.
In our conversation, you’ll hear what family time is like in the Nicolaysen household. From getting absolutely demolished by his daughter playing Mario Kart, board game nights, why they decided to get matching tattoos and how he avoids the stereotypical working Dad “How was your day” question.
But it’s not all fun and games. Christopher and his wife have already paid for their funerals; they’ve talked to their kids about money and involved them in their legacy planning. We covered a lot of ground, but the big takeaway here is how he’s created such close bonds with his daughters, who are grown-ups now, how he de-escalates confrontation and keeps his marriage fresh and thriving after 26 years. Enjoy!

FRD is solving a huge problem for dads. Our culture has turned “Dad” into a joke. Go ahead, google Dad and you’ll find Dad Bod, Dad Jokes, Dad Weed, etc. Culturally, it’s a Homer Simpson mentality, and it’s BS.
Our community is built for solid men. Men with range. Those who are badass, and know there’s still more to learn, together.
Most guys find it hard to find “their crew.” Finding other committed men, who are successful in life, and want to put family first – these guys are rare. Is this you?
In FRD, hundreds of men from all over the world show up for each other, to share resources and raise the bar of fatherhood (our core values)
If you’re reading this, you want to grow. Podcasts are great, but guys… when you’re ready to stop just listening to content, and want to JOIN the conversations – the FRD brotherhood is ready for you.
One more thing…
