Today's episode is a solo episode (haven't done one of these in a while!!) I started hearing the term "Metabolic Syndrome" more and more often and I thought to myself.... "What the heck is Metabolic Syndrome?!"
I thought I probably wasn't the only person who didn't know what that meant. And since over 88% of the population, according to a new study, is "metabolically unhealthy", I thought I should learn what it meant.
Well, I looked it up and guess what?! Metabolic Syndrome used to be known as INSULIN RESISTANCE SYNDROME!! 🤯
WHY on Earth is mainstream medicine avoiding using the term INSULIN RESISTANCE when that's exactly what's happening.
WHY are they NOT using a test of insulin in the criteria to determine if you have Insulin Resistance Syndrome?!?!?
In this episode, I talk about what the criteria for Insulin Resistance Syndrome is, what is being missed by using this criteria, what marker is the first to go out of range and why it's so important to test this specific marker.
I also talk about what insulin resistance is, the EARLY signs of Insulin Resistance, that this metric is missing. And finally, I talk about how to improve blood sugar and insulin sensitivity.
