Rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has me both excited and terrified. On one hand, AI could contribute to exponential advancements in science, technology, engineering, and socioeconomics leading to human flourishing unlike anything we’ve ever seen. On the other, AI could derange human psychology, widen power gaps, disrupt society, and even evolve beyond human understanding or control. So what do we do about this?
