Keeping your purpose for why you started in mind will help prevent you from being sidetracked. For most pursuits there are predefinitions for success, the goal is to understand what success looks like in your chosen career and then measure your success correctly. Two things can be measured; outcome and or activity. There is a time required to get your desired results.
