Flow State and Mindset Change from Proactive Communication - In today's episode, Rob talks about recent developments that have contributed to the desired change in mindset regarding his day job...much of which is a direct result of proactive communication.
Rob also shares about how easily he's been able to enter the flow state on account of a project that he's decided to take on based on the environment he has found himself in at work.
Proactive communication can often lead to obtaining the information that we need to make decisions and take action to move forward and beyond the challenges we experience in life.
Reflection shows that Rob often "stews" on things...doing exactly the opposite of proactive communication. He shares how he is recognizing these patterns of behavior - and some of the steps he is taking to actively change them.
He understands that the lack of communication can lead to resentment, and how that resentment most likely translated into his own behaviors, which led to others not wanting to communicate with him, turning into a vicious cycle over a period of months, maybe years.
Rob is learning that proactive communication can literally save your life, and draws some analogies between the green industry and life...living it from season to season - while at the same time, looking at his long term goals via the 2022 Goal Setting Workbook, by Dan Miller.
It is important to put ourselves in situations where we are placed outside our comfort zones, for these moments of positive stress provide opportunities for further growth and development of our selves - often times providing more than we could have imagined.
The episode concludes with Rob expressing gratitude for the flexibility his employer has provided over recent months and years with all of the health issues previously experienced and all of the flexibility regarding the current work he is doing with Functional Medicine.
