This is Coronavirus 4-1-1, the latest Coronavirus info.  Just the facts for Friday March 13th, 2020. Alaska reports its first case as U.S. totals rise to 1,701 in 46 states and the District of Columbia.  41 people have died.  Closings continue worldwide in an effort to contain the virus.  All schools in Kentucky, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon and Washington State will close for several weeks. Major League Baseball joins the NHL, the NBA and NCAA tournament basketball in suspending or cancelling events.  NASCAR will race without fans.  Broadway, The Smithsonian, Disney World and Disneyland will close to combat the spread.  Nepal has canceled climbing expeditions on Mount Everest, relays The Washington Post.  The House votes today on a relief package to help workers and patients effected by the virus.  The package will include free virus testing and paid sick leave.  On Thursday, the S&P 500 suffered its biggest daily drop since “Black Monday” in 1987.  Sophie Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister, has tested positive for the virus.  The Prime Minister will self-isolate.  In the U.S., the White House reports that neither The President nor Vice President would be tested after coming in contact with a Brazilian official who tested positive for COVID-19.  Australia’s home affairs minister has tested positive, just a few days after meeting with Attorney General William Barr and Ivanka Trump.Global case count 135, 232.
