Review: The wine is amazing, every sip makes us sad that we are closer to the end of the glass. The wine is smooth, rich, and bold. Five stars for this one.
WTF
Our oldest daughter is almost 40 and is frustrated at her lack of prospects with a home, a husband, and a child. Her standards are profoundly high: must make six figures, be six feet tall, and have no previous marriages or children.
She works 60 hours a week and is a very driven woman. She announced to her father and me that she will be proceeding forward as a single mother and getting a sperm donor. We were happy but hesitant. This quickly turned to horror when our daughter told us that she was looking to move back home with us. Her expectations are that I would be the caregiver and she would continue with her career. I love my children and my grandchildren but I am done raising babies. My husband and I are nearing retirement and our plans do not include diaper changing and midnight feedings. We told our daughters this would not be possible and she became upset, she accused us of being selfish and denying her the opportunity to be a mother.
My husband lost his temper and told her that she was the one being selfish. Our daughter is no longer talking to us, I have heard from her siblings that she is going ahead with her plans and has an appointment at the clinic. It breaks my heart that we might miss this, we have tried reaching out but she won't respond. She can carry a grudge to the grave. What should we do here?
Amanda and Monica feel that she is being an entitled brat who must have been spoiled rotten as a child. They both think the woman is crazy and will make a horrible parent. Amanda talks about how that when we do too much for our children are we setting them up to be awful people?
