In today's episode, I spoke with Canadian professional triathlete Jackson Laundry. I found Jackson to be a very likable individual who strives to push his athletic limits to the fullest.
I talked to Jackson about his journey into triathlon, the significance of triathlon in his life, the world of professional triathlon, and the competition between the two race organizations, Ironman and the PTO. Additionally, we discussed the highs and lows of his 2023 season. Jackson had to endure a bitter defeat at the IM 70.3 World Championship, but he quickly bounced back with a victory in Michigan and a second-place finish in Augusta.
Furthermore, Jackson provided insights into his relationship with his top Canadian rival, Lionel Sanders, who has been a focal point of public attention in Canada for years. At the end of the podcast, we also took a glimpse into the future of Jackson's career, as he recently lined up at the start line for the IM 70.3 event in Los Cabos last weekend.

In der heutigen Folge habe ich mit dem kanadischen Profitriathleten Jackson Laundry gesprochen. Ich habe Jackson als sehr sympathischen Menschen kennengelernt, der sportlich das Beste aus sich herausholen möchte, was möglich ist.
Ich rede mit Jackson über seinen Weg in den Triathlon, die Bedeutung des Triathlons für ihn, über den Profitriathlon generell und die Konkurrenz zwischen den beiden Rennorganisationen Ironman und der PTO. Außerdem unterhalten wir uns über die Höhen und Tiefen seiner Saison 2023. So hatte Jackson bei der IM 70.3 WM eine bittere Niederlage einstecken müssen, kam aber nur kurze Zeit später mit einem Sieg in Michigan und einem zweiten Platz in Augusta stark zurück.
Zudem gibt uns Jackson Einblicke in sein Verhältnis zu seinem ärgsten kanadischen Widersacher Lionel Sanders, der seit Jahren im Fokus der öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit in Kanada steht. Am Ende des Podcasts wagen wir noch einen Blick in die Zukunft von Jacksons Karriere, der am vergangenen Wochenende noch in Los Cabos beim IM 70.3 an der Startlinie stand.
