Steven Robert Alten was born August 21, 1959, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

He is an American science-fiction author. He is best known for his Meg series of novels set around the fictitious survival of the megalodon; a giant, prehistoric shark. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at Penn State University, a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware, and a Doctorate of Education at Temple University, Steve decided to pen his debut novel ‘Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror’ to help support his struggling family-of-five. He even sold his ’71 Malibu convertible to pay for his editing fees!
