In the Star Trek: Voyager episode Repentance, Voyager rescues a damaged transport ship carrying prisoners to their execution. But when the Doctor uncovers a neurological condition at the root of one inmate’s violent behavior, questions arise about guilt, rehabilitation, and justice. It’s a classic tale of “what if your criminal justice system is built on flawed science and societal fear?” This week, Mission Log gets a sentence to Repentance.
