Despite public statements by V4 ministers to coordinate actions and keep borders open, the recent spike in COVID-19 is set to spoil the party. With Czechia placed on the list of “red zone” countries by Slovakia just days after the Slavkov format meeting between the two countries and Austria, this may be the beginning of a return to stricter border controls and even temporary lockdowns.
