佛教把吃飯的地方叫「五觀堂」，用餐時應作五種觀想。
藉此希望佛教徒們能夠了解「吃現成飯，當思來處不易；說事後話，唯恐當局者迷」。能夠懷抱這樣的心，才是如法的乞食，才能合乎飲食之道。
