Wikileaks and the DNC

Earlier this summer Wikileaks released a cache of internal emails from the Democratic National Committee. "Unnamed experts" trace this event back to Russian hackers. But who are these hackers? What proof exists? And, mosgt importantly, who hacked democracy?
