For this episode I spoke w/ Irish crime journalist and author, Nicola Tallant. She spoke to us about the upcoming trial of one of Ireland’s most infamous criminals, Gerry “The Monk” Hutch” and the shocking revelation that a Sinn Fein local councilor will be turning state’s witness against him.

Nicola spoke to me about the background of the Hutch/Kinahan feud and the notorious “Regency Hotel attack” for which Gerry Hutch stands accused of planning, the trial of Patrick Hutch and the history of criminals-turned-state-witness in Irish gangland.

Nicola also told me about her start in crime journalism around the time of Veronica Guerin’s murder and her work in chronicling the story of Ireland’s youngest ever witness protection program participants and his journey through the criminal underworld.
