On May 21, 1924, 14-year-old Bobby Franks was killed for the thrill of it by two wealthy Chicago-area teens looking to commit the perfect murder. The legacy of Leopold and Loeb and their “crime of the century” has inspired many film adaptations, including the 2002 thriller, “Murder by Numbers.”
