The Context of White Supremacy welcomes John A. Haymond. A White Man and a US army veteran, Haymond is a a historian, author, public speaker, and educator. He served 21 years in the armed services before returning to civilian life to research Racism. We’ll discuss his 2025 publication, Black Soldiers, White Laws: The Tragedy of the 24th Infantry in 1917 Houston. This text examines the so called racial mutiny where dozens of black male soldiers resorted to counter-violence in response to daily White Terrorism in Houston, Texas. Nearly two dozen black males were hanged as a result of this violent outburst. Nearly one hundred black males were then caged in Leavenworth prison as punishment for defending themselves against White Terrorism. Mr. Haymond tells us that one significant aspect of Houston's White Supremacy was White males' hankering for black brothels.
