9/28/23 Carrie: the Musical at Carthage College

We preview Carthage College's production of Carrie: The Musical with Matthew Hougland, co-director of the production, and two members of the cast: Ellie Neybert (Carrie) and Dominic Luzwick (Tommy Ross.) The show is based on the Stephen King novel. The show's 1988 opening on Broadway is widely regarded as one of the biggest and costliest disasters in Broadway history- but the show was revised in 2012 and is much more highly regarded today. We will talk about the complicated history of the show, the considerable technical challenges which it poses, and what it has been like for the students to take on this show.
