We're kicking off the week with a bonus episode - Aneesah Khadijah joins Andrew to discuss working backstage in theatre.
After studying Law at the University of Manchester, Aneesah discovered her true passion in the arts, building a career that spans stage management, creative production and artist liaison work.
Her theatre credits include Caged Sisters, In The Beginning Woman Was The Sun, RepresentAsian and Mendaki as well as ongoing collaborations with Itikku Productions where she champions stories of identity, culture, and womanhood.
Aneesah currently works as Operations Officer at the English National Ballet and is part of the MusicalCon team, where, for the past few years, she’s worked with Andrew as an artist liaison for the Backstage Theatre.
In this episode, Aneesah chats about her journey into theatre and the importance of representation backstage as well as onstage, especially for BESEA creatives. Aneesah and Andrew also talk about why they're excited about this year’s MusicalCon!
