This week, Mal sits down with artist Bradi Masci, who recently included Mal in a series of nude paintings celebrating queer figures in culture.
Together, they unpack compulsory heterosexuality, the complicated relationship women are taught to have with their bodies, and how early we learn to look outside ourselves( especially to men) for approval. They explore how those messages shape everything from the way we see ourselves to the choices we make about our relationships, health, and lives.
Bradi also shares how art became a vehicle for unlearning those expectations, reclaiming her own gaze, and seeing the female body outside of the rules we’ve been handed.
