Jake Banwart is a dude I want to play for.
He has grown Baseball Academics Midwest over the years into a powerhouse program. The cool thing about it, he has done it the right way. They stack the learning and improve player IQ. They are huge on the mental side of the game and care more about the athlete than the dollar.
This one is one you are going to want to stick around till the end for!
Jake, we can't thank you enough for taking the time to join us on the podcast. Everyone listening will benefit! We look forward to seeing you in the near future!

Welcome back to another episode of Champions School. I am Ray McIntire joined by Austin Byler breaking down all things character, leadership, cool stuff really. We don’t have a clean intro but I don’t like it when it’s too scripted. Today we have Jake Banwart with the BAM FAM. He actually has done a lot things including running two businesses, coaching multiple teams and the organization has a ton of teams. They are out of Indianapolis, stick around for that, it’s a great interview. We will get into the full story later in the podcast but he’s a really genuine guy and it’s cool to see how that program operates. Updates for us: we just got back from Maxwell, CA. Shout out to T-Wells. It was a great time running an awesome camp. Touch on that and your outing on the mound. Ray came in and closed it out for four innings. That’s right, three innings on the mound, three runs given up. The whole trip to Maxwell was awesome though. It is a super small town with maybe a couple hundred kids at the whole high school. Tyler Wells is a former teammate of ours and is out there as the head coach of the high school and he is doing a great job. We had over 70 kids from all different ages. It was cool to see everyone come together. Anyways, let’s get into the good news of the week.
First good news of the week: how old do you think the oldest living WWII veteran is? 101? Try again. 99? He just turned 112…. So for any of you at 55 stressing out feeling like you are getting to the back half of your life—you have twice that. First of all, anyone who serves we have to give a huge shout out to and then to be in that WWII era and be around this long. I just wanted to give him a birthday shout out. His name is Lawrence Brooks. That is all I have, but he’s a legend. That’s number 1. Number 2: TJ Friedl! TJ was an outfielder for us at the University of Nevada, walked onto the team and one of the hardest working dudes and is a stand-up guy. Really he just kept it going through the minor league system. He hit a bomb in his first [game] with the Reds. Shout out to TJ, what do you think about that whole situation? Unreal story.
