Episode 90: Case Closed The Time Bombed Skyscraper (1997)

This week at The Film Club we're concluding ANIMAY Month with a 90s pick, Detective Conan: The Time Bombed Skyscraper. This is the first film in the Detective Conan franchise and tells the story of genius teen detective Jimmy Kudo who is accidentally turned into a child but must pretend to be junior detective Conan Edogawa while still being himself. Conan lives with his best friend Rachel who doesn't know that he's really Jimmy and her father Detective Richard Moore who isn't the best detective on the force but Conan helps him a lot. A series of bombs are going off around the city destroying certain landmarks. When the bomber threatens the train lines Conan and the entire police force must stop the impending threat. When crisis is averted and the bomber is captured one final trap hasn't been discovered and it leaves Rachel in danger. Can Conan save Rachel? Or is this one puzzle he can't solve?
