In this extra special episode, I am joined live on Instagram by my friend Sarah from @thesimpleflourish to talk about the top things to avoid when first starting out in your business.
Sarah and I straight up revealed the key mistakes we made when we first started our businesses and what we learned from them. I also dug into my anti-failure model with tips on how to separate your self worth from your mistakes.
We shone a spotlight on some of the things we are led to think are priorities when we first start our businesses, how they in fact end up being distractions, and what to focus on as priorities instead.
You'll find out about navigating finances and income, how women have been excluded in the workplace and financial structures since it all began, and why it is so powerful for us to attract wild financial abundance.
Highlights:
- Allow me to stand on my soapbox a moment and remind you before you dig into this episode; making mistakes and being okay with failing are the most underrated secret weapons in business, especially in the beginning, because that's how you're going to learn a shit-ton of stuff about yourself. You're not doing yourself any favors if your game plan is to make everything so calculated and perfectly put together. Being flexible and learning from your mistakes is how you're going to accelerate your growth.
- Just like me, Sarah was pretty positive that if she'd got the business and branding that she wanted from the beginning, she wouldn't have the businesses that we have now. We talked about the expectations and mindset that make for a healthy, sustainable game plan towards a business that feels good to you and you're excited about.
- I shared my thoughts on having set business plans, financial goals and projections versus taking it one step at a time. If you've listened to any of my content or known me long enough, you will know that I'm more of a flow-with-what-feels-good kind of person by human design. You will also know that I believe there's not just one cookie-cutter way to run a business. Tune in to find out mine and Sarah's thoughts.
- Sarah and I gave the deets on some of the experimentation we allowed ourselves to dabble in as we built our businesses to where they're now. You will probably be surprised by what we had to say, and I believe you will find our experiences both liberating and inspiring to hear.
