Educating people to be the best versions of themselves with Jordan Wylie

"Opportunities are like standing on the platform at a train station, but the train doesn't stop to say I am an opportunity, you just have to grab one of them."

Jordan Wylie was born and raised in Blackpool before he spent ten years in the army.

As a kid Jordan grew up on a council estate, but whatever he lacked materially he certainly didn't lack in terms of love and support. Football was his life, but at 15 or 16

he got distracted by other things as you do and found himself after finishing school with no qualifications and the military was the one place for him.

The military gave Jordan a sense of purpose, but after getting injured, he was no longer able to fulfil his role that he had performed for ten years.

After he left, he worked in Somalia fighting pirates for five years as a security guard. During this time, he had a break down with his partner and the mother of his daughter. Jordan admittedly got things wrong. He had valued the wrong things in life. He was chasing the materialistic dream and had forgotten what was important.

Jordan had been living the dream of travel and being away from home but one day arrived back to an empty home.

Jordan was diagnosed with severe depression and chronic anxiety, he came to the reality that, it is very easy to turn a negative situation and start blaming it on somebody else. The moment you can take responsibility, is the moment you can live a more fulfilled life.

"Sometimes doing the right thing doesn't always feel great in the moment."

After travelling around the East coast of Africa and working within war zones, Jordan had always got to see the negative things that war, and conflict can bring. The children effected were always something that stuck with Jordan and therefore he decided that he wanted to give something back to these young people.

Jordan now tries to make a difference to the lives of so many people. Jordan has also successfully completed numerous major charity expeditions, including the highly publicised Running Dangerously, which saw him run through Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia, and Barefoot Warrior which involved climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, the world's highest freestanding mountain, completely barefoot! In 2020 Jordan wrote his name into the Guinness Book of Records by running the deepest underground marathon (1000 metres below the surface in a mine) and by Stand-up Paddle boarding for further and longer at sea than anyone ever has before in history (149 days / 2377 KM).

He has raised over one million pounds for several amazing causes throughout the world. And lives by the mantra 'Be the difference that makes the difference'.

The foundation of Jordan's values are: Respect for others, courage, integrity, loyalty, discipline and selfless commitment.
