Walking on Water: Faith Over Fear

Matthew 14:22-31 reveals a powerful lesson about faith, fear, and the supernatural. Amid rough waters and adversarial circumstances, Jesus walked on the sea, demonstrating His divine authority. Peter, inspired by faith, requested to join Jesus on the water. With a single word, “Come,” Jesus empowered Peter to step into the supernatural. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on water, defying natural laws. However, when Peter shifted his focus to the boisterous wind, fear replaced faith, and he began to sink. Jesus immediately saved him but rebuked his weak faith, highlighting a spiritual principle: faith keeps God in the circumstance, while fear disconnects us from His power. God’s promises and power are always available, but they must be accessed through faith and a willingness to step out. This passage challenges us to trust God fully, walk in peace, and embrace the supernatural to fulfill His promises and the Great Commission.
