For someone under 30 years old he's probably coached more talent than coached who've coached for 30 years might ever coach, while running cross country at Catawba he also was an Assistant Coach for the men's basketball team under Jim Baker. After serving as an Assistant Coach for a few years he took over Lake Norman Christian and quickly turned them into a small "mom and pop" private school team into a nationally ranked team that scheduled teams like Oak Hill.

Coach Padgett talks about coaching Mikey Williams and his eventual parting of ways from Lake Norman Christian, as well as what he's learned from that experience. He shares his new position and what attracted him to take the job in South Carolina. A self proclaimed polarizing person, I appreciate his openness and transparency.
