One thing that you can start to get into the nitty gritty with is focusing on periodising your nutrition with your training.
As you start your training mesocycle whether that be in the gym or cardiovascular wise, you're going to start on the lower end of the performance level.
As you begin to increase your training load, especially cardiovascularly, you're going to increase your calorie expenditure.
This increase in calorie expenditure also can mean you can be going from proper maintenance calories into a slight deficit and although it might not show up on the scale it could negatively impact your performance.
