Both the Duke Blue Devils and NC State Wolfpack won their season openers last night. Duke surged in the second half to defeat Elon 45–17, and quarterback Darian Mensah was electric. Mensah completed 27 of 34 passes, throwing for 389 yards and 3 touchdowns (all in the second half). In 2nd half alone, Mensah was 11-for-11 and made 14 consecutive completions to finish the game. C.J. Bailey and NC State secured a 24-17 victory over East Carolina last night. Bailey had 24 completions on 34 attempts with 318 passing yards, a touchdown and an inreception. Are Bailey and Mensah really that good? How did Duke and State look as a whole?
